Meet Ethan
Director, Editor, DJ, and creative shaped by Shanghai, Beijing, Singapore, and now currently based New York. Currently studying Film & TV Production at NYU, where I’m exploring the intersections of film, music, fashion, design, and culture. A lot of my work comes from trying to make sense of identity, memory, place, and the small human moments that usually go unnoticed.
Before NYU, I served as a Lieutenant in the Singapore Armed Forces, leading a mortar platoon in the Artillery. It was a completely different world from film sets and edit rooms, but it shaped the way I work: staying calm under pressure, trusting the people around me, and learning how to lead when things don’t go exactly to plan.
My creative work moves across a multitude of mediums, often exploring culture, memory, identity, and the small moments that make everyday life feel cinematic. I’m especially interested in building work that feels visually sharp, emotionally honest, and rooted in the worlds I move through.
